I just couldn't end the post without a little bit of inspiration to share with you from me using the new September set.
How fun is that pumpkin? All the pieces of the pumpkin are completely buildable. You can paper piece, color, add the leaf and swirl element to create a super cute pumpkin. There's also a Jack-O-Lantern face you can build in as well. Check out the swirl stem stamp I used to create a grassy-like background.

Check out Latisha's awesome technique used to make this card!

Latisha Yoast, a SUPERB designer on the Avocado Arts Pit Crew, made this COOL card for a "Dare to get Dirty" challenge on Splitcoast Stampers site!  I love how she used Jenni Bowlin acrylic paint, bubble wrap, the Avocado Arts August Stamp Set "Zip n By to Say Hi" and a Spellbinders die to create this:

Did you know that the sentiments and words in the August Stamp set fit into the license plate and the road sign!  How cool is that?  Make sure and check out Latisha's blog post http://crafteebee.blogspot.com/2011/07/zipnby-to-say-hi.html where she shows you, step-by-step, how to make this card!

AWESOME LATISHA!!

My Wish for You Inspiration!

Ready for some scrapbook inspiration
with a twist!
Have you see the new My Wish for You set?
This set tugs at our hearts and begins the launch of our new Giving Good with Avocado Arts campaign. Every month a portion of each sale of this set will go directly to a different foundation, organization or group that we will support. Our very first recipient is
Isaac's Foundation.

When designing this set, Michelle and I chatted for quite some time about how we could best illustrate all that we wanted to share, make it meaningful and resonate with YOU!

Below is a project, that in part, inspired the design of this set. We wanted to create a set that had many uses and could help someone tell a story, send a card, give someone hope, give someone a boost, etc.

My nephew Jaxon was diagnosed in February, 2010 with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). He was 3. I adore this little boy. He has been a light in all of our lives since he was six months old. Jaxon was born in Guatemala and adopted by my cousin Terry and her husband Pete. The process was a journey in itself. I love them all so much. Getting word that Jaxon was diagnosed (so unexpectedly and without warning, I might add) was like being punched in the chest. He was 3 and he had a COLD.

Jaxon is in remission but has a long journey ahead. His smile lights up a room and we are blessed to have him in our family. I have been keeping little notes of things I want to share with Jaxon about this time in his life. The notes were inspiration for some of the words in the set.

So, I give you a little project that illustrates, "My Wish for You" just for Jaxon from Auntie Lis (as Jaxon would say). Enjoy the inspiration and we hope this set help you "tell your story."
You get what you GIVE. So GIVE good!
-Lisa

I decided to create a little pocket folder mini album.
This is Jaxon. The file folder tab is a perfect spot to use our AvocadoType set to spell out his name. I used the title "My Wish for You" and "You are Amazing" on the cover. The awareness ribbon is wrapped around the number 4 because that's how old he is in this recent pic. Look at that smile. The word "Journey" fits right into the awareness ribbon. Did you know that the color orange is the awareness color for leukemia? You can change out the color to suit your project.

This is what you see when you open up the file folder. I used the "HOPE" element as an embellishment. By the way, we were dyeing Easter eggs and he has the color all over his hands. :)
The pocket on the right is perfect for the notecards I made to journal/jot down my "notes" to Jaxon. I used the "my wish for you" and wish stamp to embellish the cards.
Attached to the inside of the folder is a mini envelope embellished with more words and elements from the set. This envelope is for a very special letter I have written to my cousin Terry and Pete about how strong they are and what a AWESOME parents they are. Terry and I grew up together. She is stronger than she thinks she is.
This is a close-up of the "HOPE" embellishment using the stars from the set and the heart from the AvocadoType set.
Here's a close-up of the paper-pieced awareness ribbon.

Here's a tip: Snip the swirl image apart from the paper airplane (Get two for one). You can easily line them back up again. Mount the swirl image in a circle on your clear block and create a background builder, add a little heart to the swirl and you have a whole new look. Don't like to snip a part your stamps? No worries, use the swirl the same way and just don't ink up the paper airplane. -Lisa P.S. I just love that little puffy smoke for the car. How about you?
