Enjoy the Journey with Amanda

Happy Friday, stampers!  Amanda here today with some fun cards using July's Enjoy the Journey stamp set.  This set is so fun and versatile!  You can make cute cards or serious cards, fancy cards or CAS cards.

As soon as I saw the VW Beetle icon I knew it would pair perfectly with a sheet of tie dye Duck Tape that has been floating around in my craft room for a while.  I adhered a strip of Duck Tape to my card base and heat embossed the car in white.  Confession: This card is my second draft.  I originally heat embossed the sentiment directly on the Duck Tape but it melted the tape and shriveled up.  Oops.  For the second card, I embossed the sentiment on a strip of vellum and adhered it over the tape.  Much better.

Inspired by the corner protectors on the middle suitcase, I cut a 1.5" circle into quarters and stitched them to the card base to give the card a suitcase-like feel.  I kept the card simple by stamping the suitcases and sentiment with a coordinating brown ink.

Rather than use the sneakers from the Enjoy the Journey set, I used the high heel stamp from the Age is a Stage mini set to create this CAS card.  Don't those shoes look fabulous in red? I positioned the high heels to look as though they were walking up a set of stairs.  I added a striped border to add some visual interest.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Enjoy the Journey with Heather P.

Hi, everyone! Heather P. here with three projects featuring the new July set, Enjoy the Journey.

For my first card, I started with a cream card base, and adhered a piece of gray striped paper to the card front.  Next, I stamped the lighthouse image from the set in versamark, then heat embossed it with white powder before die cutting it into a circle shape.  I then stamped the sentiment onto a strip of vellum in versamark, then heat embossed it as well with white powder.  I adhered the yellow circle to a strip of aqua paper with pop dots, then loosely attached the vellum sentiment (securing it only to the back of the aqua paper).  The entire panel was then attached to the card front with pop dots, and to finish up, I embellished with green enamel dots.

For my second card, I again started with a cream colored card base, then adhered a piece of polka dot paper to the front.  I then cut an angular piece of gray paper, and stamped it with the shoe image in versamark before heat setting with clear embossing powder.  Once that cooled, I stamped the sentiment with versamark, and heat embossed with white powder.  To finish up, I adhered the panel to the card front with pop dots and embellished with aqua enamel dots.

For my last card, I started with a piece of yellow card stock, then repeat stamped the stacked luggage image in versamark before heat embossing with white powder.  Next, I cut a strip of light gray card stock, trimmed the ends into a banner shape, then stamped the sentiment in a darker gray ink.  I then adhered the heat embossed panel and sentiment to the card front with pop dots.  To finish up, I embellished with green enamel dots.

Well, that wraps it up for me, but be sure to come back on the 25th for more Avocado Arts inspiration! :)

Enjoy the Journey with Teri

Hello, Avocado Arts fans!
I'm excited to bring some new projects made with the new Enjoy the Journey stamp set.

These stamps work great for making encouragement cards. In fact, I made three of them to share with you today. I think it's always good to keep a few encouragement cards on hand because you never know when a friend might need a pick-me-up.

I stamped the shoes on cardstock. I cut them out with my scissors and then added a little color to each shoe with a white pencil.

I used the shoe stamps again for this card.

This time, I paired together to sentiments from the stamp set to make one big sentiment. It's so nice when multiple phrases work well together!

Finally, I just had to make something the set's cute car stamp!

I stamped the car onto my card and then I stamped it one more time on yellow cardstock. I cut  part of the yellow car out with my scissors and adhered it to the card.
Although I stamped the sentiment three times, I only inked it once. I stamped one time and then I stamped two more times without reinking it.
Thanks for stopping by today, friends! Be sure to watch the Avocado Arts blog for more great ideas.

How fun are these shoes? I am totally love them with the sentiment.
I did a simple watercolor background with a hint of color.
and for all those fun trips we are taking this summer this is perfect not just cards but layouts too. I just had to use a map with this fun car. I used my Silhouette to cut the US shape and added a little color to the heart. Simple but fun..don't you think?
This makes me want to pack my bags and go on a trip.
Maybe I will..heehee

Thanks for stopping by today.
I hope that you have enjoyed my post today.

Enjoy the Journey with Heather H.

Good morning! Heather here from Houses Built of Cards - to share a few cards with you using the new stamp set for July - I just love the fun mix of images and sentiments on this set!!!

First up - I decided to use the fun lighthouse image:

I stamped, colored, and fussy cut out the lighthouse. Used a Lil' Inker's die to make a window on my blue pattern paper, then added the sun ray pattern paper behind it. Added a torn edge of kraft paper on the bottom with my sentiment, heat embossed in silver, and some torn glitter washi tape on the bottom of that. I added some vellum rays that I trimmed on my paper cutter, then adhered the lighthouse with foam adhesive. Finished off by adding decorative corners to the card.

Next up - how can you not LOVE this adorable VW bug?!?!? I thought it was just the cutest!

I stamped it on some white cardstock, added the sentiment underneath with MFT ink, and used some Tim Holtz distress ink around the edges. Added some jute twine, then mounted with foam adhesive on some pattern paper from MME with a touch of washi tucked underneath. As a final finishing touch, I covered the bug with some Wink of Stella - super hard to see in the pictures - but so fun and sparkly in real life!

Finally, I used one of the cute new mini sets to make another card - such a cute cupcake, don't you think?

Yep - I went with watercolor for this one!

I simply stamped it, watercolored it in, then stamped my sentiment underneath. Added a sketchy border around the edges, then covered the bottom of the cupcake and the sprinkles with Glossy Accents before mounting it on a dark gray card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!

July Guest Designer Laura Williams!!

Please give a warm welcome to Laura Williams!!  Laura Williams is a paper-crafter who adores bright cheery colors, polka dots, and bold, clean design. She is a Go-to Gal at Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine, and has been crafting for manufacturers and publications since 2007. You can find Laura on her blog, Lauralooloo, as well as on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.

I really wanted to create a super colorful tie-died sort of card, so I used Hero Arts Ink Daubers to dab color onto my stamped car. After it dried, I trimmed it, and adhered it with foam tape for a little added POP.

On my Let Your Light Shine Bright card, as well as the lighthouse tag, I paired the stamps with Fancy Pants Nautical papers. I paper-pieced the lighthouses to add some fun pattern to them.

For my One Step at a Time card, I colored and trimmed the shoes on cardstock, and then punched holes to thread twine through as tiny shoelaces. The sentiment worked so perfectly on my hill. I originally created the scene for the car to be driving on, but then I saw how perfectly the sentiment fit there, so I adjusted my plan!

A special thanks to Laura for sharing her mad skills with us!!
