Meet Guest Designer: Nina Yang

Hello everyone! I'm so excited to guest design for Avocado Arts this month! My card today was made with the brand new You Rule set.

I like the big and beautiful images from this set especially the pair of shoes. I stamped the notebook paper image twice on some patterned paper and cut out to "clip" them together with the shoes. The clip was made with the clip stamp from the same set. Just cut as shown below. (You are seeing a pair of red shoes because I first tried coloring them but then decided to paper piece them instead.)

I had so much fun making this card and I hope that you are inspired. Thank Avocado Arts for having me! And thank you for stopping by! Happy Crafting!

You Rule with Ashley Harris

Hello and happy August!  I don't know about you but for me August means back to school.  My kids start school next Wednesday.  Crazy I know.  Well this next set from Avocado Arts fits perfectly for this theme.

Nice Huh!?!

So here is what I created with this set.

For this tag I heat embossed in white and then colored the shoes with Perfect Pearls by Ranger.  Love how they sparkle!

I love love love this card.  I don't know why I do, but it just makes me feel all warm inside!   Notice the apple is from the set Grateful Season from Avocado Arts.  Just made the perfect touch.

Now I love this easel.  I knew right when I saw it I wanted splatters on it.  I used some Color Shine by Heidi Swapp for this.  It just makes me happy.   Hope you enjoyed!   Stay tuned this week for more wonderful inspiration!  Good times!

Grillin' and Chillin' with Teri

Hi everyone!
Teri here today, and I'm pumped to share three cards I made with the Grillin' and Chillin set from Avocado Arts!

What a fun set this one is! I just love the happy, Summertime feeling of it. And I couldn't help but be inspired to make a couple cards with it that have a sweet, happy Summer vibe!

To me, Summer goes hand in hand with lemonade! So, of course, I had to make a card with the set's lemonade glass!

Every single stamped element on this card is from the stamp set! To give the umbrellas some extra "kick", I  placed a pearl on top of each one.

Such a simple little touch, but I think it really helps make them pop!

And what Summer day would be complete without a nice lounger to rest in!

You might say I was inspired a little here by one of my favorite modern artists, Andy Warhol, by going with bold colors and repeating the same design over and over.

And, of course, Summertime means swimming, too! So I was inspired to make a card with the set's super cute swimsuit!

Well, that's all I have for today! Be sure to check out the Avocado Arts blog. The Pit Crew has been sharing projects all month long with the Grillin' and Chillin' stamp set. Lots of inspiring projects to be found!

Chillin with Julie

Good morning!!  How fun is the July stamp set, Grillin' and Chillin'?!  Just the perfect set for all your summer party invitations, scrapbook pages and so much more!  Here are just a few of my ideas for this set.

First up, the Grill!  When I saw this Digital Die Cut Kit I just had to try it!  Wouldn't these made just the cutest invitations for a BBQ?  I should have replaced the blade on my Cameo, but it still cut so nicely - even the small parts.  The only think I did was enlarge it just a smidge, the beauty of a digital file!

On the inside I added some cute patterned paper to continue the picnic theme!

Next up, another card using a digital file.  This time I used the Digital Die Cuts that coordinate with the set to make a pretty apron.

I can imagine so many cute aprons adorning cards for many occasions!  Great for masculine cards!

And last but not least, I had to use the Adirondack chair image, it just screams "Maine" to me! :)  I saw some pretty cute placecards made with just a single Adirondack chair stamped before or after the name - that's a great idea!

But for this card I just stamped some brightly colored chairs, some clouds (from Perfectly Perfect Day) and the sentiment, in another fun color!

Thanks for checking out my cards - time to Relax! :)

Pinky Brings Out The BBQ!

Hey there Avocado Art friends,

Pinky here today bringing you the BARBECUE!
I am in love with these new stamps from Avocado Arts-
this Grillin' and Chillin' set is simply a fun time.

I can think of hundreds of uses, because we definitely grill all summer.
So here are my projects for this set- hope you enjoy!

This first card I created using the grill and decided to add a sentiment inside as well.
The vintage style of the chair just makes me smile.

This second card was a fun one that I added flair to by
bending the sentiment and putting a foam pop dot in the middle
to make it look like it was flying in the wind a bit.
I am not sure if anyone hangs their flip flops- but in my head- we totally DO!

And this third card, of course I HAD to try the bathing suit stamps.
The "Smile it suits you" sentiment was too much for me to pass by-
I needed a complete minute with it, so adorable!

I hope you enjoyed my projects today- I know I really loved creating them.
Until next time- Keep on creating!!!!
