Well, hello friends!
I’m Wendy Sue Anderson and I am so excited to be joining all of you
today, here on the Avacado Arts blog as a guest designer! Before I share my projects I’d love to
introduce myself to you. I live in a
little mountain valley in Utah with my husband and four awesome kids – we love
the small-town atmosphere and love being within a few minutes of lakes,
mountains, resorts, and so many beautiful places! I have been working in the
scrapbooking/paper-crafting industry for a long time (about 14 years) and I am
so blessed to continue to have opportunities to share my love of all things
paper! I’d love to invite you to visit
me at my home on the internet – my blog Just Me…and My Little World.
And now, on to the fun stuff! I received the Sassy Chick Stamp set and I
had so much fun creating a few projects to share with you.
My first card features the Sunshine, clouds, and sentiment.
One of my favorite techniques is stamping an image onto
patterned paper and embossing with white powder. I just love how it makes the shape pop, yet
allows it to remain soft and subtle at the same time.
These small images stamped so crisp and clean – I loved how
the little stitching lines were each so well defined when they were embossed!
The next card I made features the flower and grass border
images and another little sentiment:
I stamped the flowers onto a little strip of patterned
paper. My first inclination was to stamp
the flowers in various colors, but ultimately I ended up stamping the flowers
in gray and adding a colored brad to the center of each one.
Can you see where I used the grass border stamp? I didn’t use it as grass as all! Instead, I used it to create the little
detail at the top of the stamped flower strip.
To complete my card, I stamped the sentiment onto a
different piece of paper, trimmed it into a little flag shape and added it with
foam adhesive.
For my final card, I just had to use those fun little
chicks!
I stamped the chicks and the puddle (with a few extra
splashes) with black ink and colored them with copic markers. I’m not a very artsy gal, so this is the
extent of my “coloring” abilities. They
are simple, but I thought they really popped on the white cardstock. Do they appear to be jumping in the puddle? I hope so – that’s what I was aiming for. ;)
I punched out the image and added it to a card base, half
covered with washi tape. Finally, I
stamped the “sassy chick” sentiment repeatedly onto the other half of the card
base and added a few colored dots to tie it all together.
Thanks so much for letting me visit you here on the blog – I
had a blast working with this stamp set and I’ll be watching the blog and
galleries on the web to see what YOU are creating too! Happy Spring! J
