Hollydays with Heather P.

Hi, everyone! Heather P. here with my take on November's stamp set, Hollydays! :)

To create my first tag, I started by stamping the deer image in Stazon gray ink, then colored it in with watercolors.  While the deer was drying, I cut out the tag shape from gray card stock and a piece of patterned paper, then stamped the sentiment in versamark before heat embossing with platinum powder.  I then cut out three snowflakes, and adhered them to the tag before covering them with stickles.  Once the deer was dry, I fussy cut it out, and adhered it to the tag with pop dots. To finish up, I added some coral ribbon and twine, then embellished with green gems.

For my next tag, I started by die cutting two tag shapes, one from patterned paper, and the other from vellum, then adhered them together.  I then stamped the holly image in Stazon gray ink, then lightly watercolored the image.  Next, I stamped the sentiment in versamark ink onto mint card stock before heat embossing with white powder.  Once the holly image was dry, I fussy cut it out and adhered it to the tag base.  I then adhered the sentiment to the tag with pop dots, and embellished with yellow enamel dots.  To finish up, I added some teal/white twine and a bow.

For my last tag, I started by cutting a tag shape from a piece of patterned paper.  I then stamped the tree image in versamark before heat embossing with gold powder.  I then adhered a strip of mint card stock to the bottom of the tag,  Next, I added some teal ribbon, and secured it with jute twine.  To finish up, I embellished with turquoise gems.

Well, that wraps it up for me, but please be sure to visit the Avocado Arts blog again for more inspiration!

Have a great one!

Cheer with Heather H's Daughters

I am SO EXCITED to share this post with you today!  Why, you ask?  Because today we are featuring two YOUNG Designers.  These girls, Amy and Katie, are the daughters of Heather Hoffman, Avocado Arts Design Team Member.  Read what they had to say about our new stamp set "Cheer" from our Avocado Sprouts line and see what they created!  Absolutely fabulous as they captured the reason why I wanted to create this line of stamps.  Make sure and leave these young artists some love because we will be giving away a "Cheer" set-randomly picked from the comments.

Good morning! Heather here from Houses Built of Cards - today I'm excited to share a couple of cards that my two daughters made with the first stamp set of the new Avocado Sprouts line, Cheer:

They were both so excited when they saw the set, and I love how they both made their own special creations with them!

First up - my youngest daughter, Amy's (age 10) card. Here is what she had to say about these fun stamps:

"I liked that the stamp set was fun to cheer someone on. I also loved that I could color them however I wanted, since I love to color!"

Amy used my Copic markers to color her image, and Gold Spica glitter pen to add some fun accents. She used a couple of Tim Holtz distress markers to color the grass and the sky. Her pattern paper is from Echo Park, and she used foam adhesive for the front panel to add a bit of dimension.

Next is the card my oldest daughter, Katie (age 11), made with the set. Here is what she had to say about it:

"This stamp set is really something a kid would love to use. I loved the 'cheer' stamp because it really cheered me on to make this card. I also liked that I got to color in the girl and make her how I wanted her!"

Katie also used my Copic markers to color her girl, die cut a frame around it with an Avery Elle die, and used distress ink on the edges to blend it in a little better with her pattern paper from MME. She added some washi tape along the bottom, and a separate panel for her sentiment, with a few enamel dots as a finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you will take some time to break out your craft supplies and play with your kids too!

Hollydays with Heather H.

Oh DEER, the HOLLYDAYS are almost here and you are going to LOVE what Heather H. has to share with you today on our blog.  Her projects will surely put you in the spirit of the holiday season.  Enjoy and make sure and leave her some love!  Have a great day everyone!!

Good morning! Heather here from Houses Built of Cards - to share a few cards with you using the new stamp set for November - love these sweet Christmas images!!!

I always love everything in each set, but for some reason, there is always one that catches my eye first and I can't wait to ink it up! This month - it was that fun tree:

I stamped and heat embossed it in gold on a white die cut frame - so elegant! I then added some gorgeous paper from a new Simple Stories paper pad that I had recently gotten (and since this was my favorite, I figured the best way not to hoard it was to use it right away!) Finished off by adding a couple strips of gold glitter washi tape.

Next, I decided to make a super simple card, that left the focus on the beautiful sentiment:

I heat embossed it with Ranger platinum ink on vellum, cut a decorative edge on one side, then stitched it onto a piece of dark gray cardstock to make a banner. Added some pattern paper and enamel dots to finish it off.

And finally - who could resist that darling reindeer?!?!? SOOOO very cute!

For this one, I die cut a two piece tag so that I could inlay the kraft portion inside the white. I stamped and colored the deer in with colored pencils, then sponged some white ink around the edges to soften it before attaching it to the rest of the tag. Stamped the sentiment, added an enamel dot nose, and some ribbon and just twine to finish it off.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!

Hollydays with Jo

The Avocado Arts Design Team is ROCKIN' our new set ''Hollydays".   Jo has so incredible inspiration to share with all of you today!  Make sure and leave her a comment.

Happy Sunday! Jo here for you today, sharing my cards using Hollydays.

I created a trio of CAS cards that all coordinate. Let's get started!

Card 1: Shine On
This set has the cutest reindeer! Here I stamped the image on 110lb CS for a sturdier base and colored him with my Copics. I then decided to trim the paper and pop it up over red CS. A few details were added with a white gel pen. A reindeer isn't a reindeer without a red nose, so I placed a red sequin for the sparkle. Lastly to finish the card, I added a red/striped bow up top. The stars and sentiment "Shine On" are from the set Just Be.

Card 2:
This card measures 5"x5". The tree image is used and it's embossed with gold embossing powder. None of the details of the words were lost when the powder was set. I used my circle dies to cut the image out and created a rosette border. It is layered over gold glitter paper. The red/striped ribbon makes another appearance to tie it in with the previous card.

Card 3: To U
My last card for you measures 3"x3". It mimics Card 2. I gold embossed the "To: and From:" tag image. It's layered over a small rosette and gold glitter paper is used on the bottom.

I love making holiday cards and this stamp set is amazing! Thanks for stopping in today!

Hey Y'all

After that I stamped image onto white cardstock and heat embossed with Green Embossing Powder. Using dies and Big Shot I cut out the image panel and cut out green triangle. I adhered green tree onto image panel and I adhere image panel to card. Last but not least I adhered image onto card using pop up dots.

Here is Card Two.......CHECK IT!!!!

First I created the card from pink and white card. Stamp sentiment onto card using VersaFine Onyx Black ink. Stamp image(using Memento Tuxedo Black) onto white cardstock and color using Copics. Punch out image using circle punch and adhere to card using pop up dots.

And here's a tag......CHECK IT!!!

First I cut this tag out from Kraft cardstock using a tag die and Big Shot. Next I added washi tape and stamped sentiment with Onyx Black ink. Next I punch a hole in the tag and added twine. NEW Releases and our NEW line- Avocado Sprouts

I hope everyone is coming out of their sugar coma's after an evening of miniature candy bars and other assorted candy.  We have some EXCITING news to share with all of you!  Two NEW releases today:  Our November release "Hollydays" and the launch of new stamp line "Avocado Sprouts" with that release "Cheer" - both are available on our website www.avocadoarts.com

Take a look:

I LOVE this new set.  The options are endless and can coordinate perfectly with other holiday stamp sets in the Avocado Arts line.  The reindeer is adorable and goes perfectly with the sentiment "Oh deer...the holidays are here".  Create your very own gift tags by stamping the To: and From: stamp on your favorite holiday/colored paper.  The Christmas tree and holly will make an adorable Christmas card or can be used to create a holiday ornament or gift.

Now, onto our NEW Stamp Line:  Avocado Sprouts:

My sisters and I grew up with colored pencils, markers, scissors, glue, clay, fashion plates, paper dolls, color crayons and paint.  We didn't have the technology that this generation has today.  I traveled for 3 years, all across the United States, teaching classes and promoting Avocado Arts.  What I began to realize is our younger generation has so many gadgets and technology at their fingertips, they don't have the opportunity to sit down and just create.  Just to simply use their hands, get them dirty and use their imaginations is something that I want to see again.
This is idea has brought me to developing a line of stamps called "Avocado Sprouts".  I am very excited about this as it is geared for all ages- including our younger generation.  This line of stamps will have lots of open lines so that the images, once stamped, can be colored or painted.  They can be used for little note cards, journals, scrapbook pages-whatever your heart desires.
This line will also make a perfect gift- something that you can do together with your loved one.  Don't worry I haven't forgotten the boys- they will be included in this line too!  Watch for sports and more-coming your way.  If you have requests, please email me at michelle@avocadoarts.com as I would love to hear from you.
