I am SO EXCITED to share this post with you today! Why, you ask? Because today we are featuring two YOUNG Designers. These girls, Amy and Katie, are the daughters of Heather Hoffman, Avocado Arts Design Team Member. Read what they had to say about our new stamp set "Cheer" from our Avocado Sprouts line and see what they created! Absolutely fabulous as they captured the reason why I wanted to create this line of stamps. Make sure and leave these young artists some love because we will be giving away a "Cheer" set-randomly picked from the comments.
Good morning! Heather here from Houses Built of Cards - today I'm excited to share a couple of cards that my two daughters made with the first stamp set of the new Avocado Sprouts line, Cheer:
They were both so excited when they saw the set, and I love how they both made their own special creations with them!
First up - my youngest daughter, Amy's (age 10) card. Here is what she had to say about these fun stamps:
"I liked that the stamp set was fun to cheer someone on. I also loved that I could color them however I wanted, since I love to color!"
Amy used my Copic markers to color her image, and Gold Spica glitter pen to add some fun accents. She used a couple of Tim Holtz distress markers to color the grass and the sky. Her pattern paper is from Echo Park, and she used foam adhesive for the front panel to add a bit of dimension.
Next is the card my oldest daughter, Katie (age 11), made with the set. Here is what she had to say about it:
"This stamp set is really something a kid would love to use. I loved the 'cheer' stamp because it really cheered me on to make this card. I also liked that I got to color in the girl and make her how I wanted her!"
Katie also used my Copic markers to color her girl, die cut a frame around it with an Avery Elle die, and used distress ink on the edges to blend it in a little better with her pattern paper from MME. She added some washi tape along the bottom, and a separate panel for her sentiment, with a few enamel dots as a finishing touch.
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you will take some time to break out your craft supplies and play with your kids too!

Such great cards by young card makers...and a great stamp set! Love it!!!
Good Job Katy and Amy! Love your coloring. Good job mom for sharing your copics! :)
So cute and great coloring!
Amy, you did a great job on your card. Coloring in the sky and the grass without accidentally going into the stamped image isn't easy and you did it very carefully and well. You also colored the cheerleader very well and I love the blue and gold color scheme you used. You even colored the shoes just right. The sentiment you used was perfect for this card. I also like how you used the glitter pen and it was a great idea to pop up the central panel like that. Makes it look even cooler against the cute paper you chose. Well done.
Katie, very cool card. I love the layout you used, and also how you placed the cheer sentiment strip. The little orange dots look great on it. I love the background paper you chose. It helps continue the feeling of the cheer sentiment. I like that you chose to stamp the cheerleader on a white panel that ties in very nicely with the background paper.
Edging the paper with that soft golden yellow adds extra interest. You colored the cheerleader very well . You even added rosy cheeks. Well done.
Amy, great job. Love the Coloring in the sky and the grass, the cheerleader, the blue and gold color combo and the sentiment was perfect.
Katie, great card. I love the how you placed the sentiment strip, the background paper, the white panel, the edging with soft golden yellow, the colored cheerleader's rosy cheeks.
Thanks girls for sharing, Merry Christmas to you both.
